Water Company Shareholders Win, Customers Shat Upon (Literally)
I have been watching the water company fiasco for quite a while now and I can't believe the UK government doesn't control this fundamental public utility. The water companies became private at some point in the recent past and the top execs and shareholders have been paid bazillions while the water companies literally poured shit into public creeks, streams, rivers, lakes, and sea beaches. Customers' fees for water have skyrocketed and swimmers of all ages have gotten sick from polluted waterways. And yet... it's the companies that will receive UK government support and the customers will get more shit.
